BBQ Omugi Beef

Ingredients
  • 4 x thin slices of Omugi silverside (5mm thick)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • Zest and juice 1 orange
  • 2 tablespoons of creamed horseradish
  • sea salt flakes
  • 2 cups of Shiitake mushrooms
  • 1 large bunch of asparagus (fibrous ends trimmed off)
  • 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
Method
  • On a large plate, mix together the sesame oil, soy, orange, lime and horseradish. Place in the slices of beef with a good sprinkling of sea salt and set to marinate for a good half hour
  • Meanwhile preheat a BBQ (I love a little robata grill with hot coals for cooking this cut of meat)
  • Cook the mushrooms and asparagus over a hot grill, brushed with a little watered-down soy till cooked (approximately 2-3 minutes)
  • Set marinated meat over hot grill and cook for a minute or two on either side Remove from grill and rest for a moment before slicing and serving with vegetables and black sesame
